Background
Red Bull Ventures backed TwelveLabs' $100m Series B on 1 July 2026, joining the round specifically to back the video-AI startup's sports vertical.
Launched in 2025 and based in Fuschl am See, Austria, Red Bull Ventures is the energy-drinks group's first direct corporate venture-capital platform, targeting a 200m euro fund. It invests across media and entertainment technology, sports and human-performance Science, and sustainability, led by Nai-Tseng Chen and Sabrina Jones.
The unit replaces Red Bull's earlier practice of backing startups indirectly through outside funds such as Speedinvest and Calm/Storm. Betting directly on a video-understanding AI vendor's sports-clipping capability extends Red Bull's long-standing media operation into the AI tooling that broadcasters and rights holders increasingly rent rather than build.
