Norwegian University of Science and Technology
Norway's largest technical university, based in Trondheim
NTNU bought a two-person-portable remotely operated vehicle rated to 500m, in an EU procurement notice published on 25 September 2026 (TED 662443-2026). The single-unit buy is typical of European subsea demand, which still moves at research-grant scale.

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is Norway's largest university. It is headquartered in Trondheim, with campuses in Gjøvik and Ålesund, and took its present size in a 2016 merger; it has about 43,500 students and 8,560 staff, according to the university.
NTNU's Department of Marine Technology runs the Applied Underwater Robotics Laboratory (AUR-Lab), which operates remotely operated vehicles and autonomous surface and underwater vehicles. That work makes NTNU a regular buyer and tester of Marine robots.
Its latest purchase fits that role. An EU procurement notice published on 25 September 2026 (TED 662443-2026) shows NTNU buying a two-person-portable remotely operated vehicle rated to 500m. Like most European subsea notices that autumn, it was a single unit: demand from universities and research bodies still comes one vehicle at a time.
