AI: Jobs, Power & Money: Who actually said the word AIBackground
Monday.com is an Israeli work-management and workflow software company, listed on Nasdaq, that sells collaboration and project-tracking tools to businesses worldwide.
The company has grown revenue quickly since its 2021 listing, expanding beyond project management into a wider work operating system aimed at larger enterprise customers.
Its July 2026 restructuring came as part of a wider run of technology-sector layoffs in which companies and commentators have disagreed sharply over how much AI, rather than ordinary cost discipline, is actually driving job cuts.
Monday.com cut a fifth of its staff
Monday.com cut 630 jobs on 22 July 2026, about 20% of its workforce and roughly 350 of them in Israel, booking USD45 million to USD55 million in restructuring charges .
The company disputes any AI framing for the cut, a position trade press did not accept when tallying 2026's AI-linked layoffs regardless. Monday.com still projects revenue growth of up to 20% for the year, positioning the reduction as a restructuring of cost base and headcount mix rather than a response to falling demand or AI substitution of roles.
