Why is Limecraft nominated for an IBC 2026 Innovation Award?
Background
Limecraft is a Ghent-based cloud platform for media asset management, video ingest, AI-assisted subtitling and production workflow. It is nominated in the Content Creation category of the IBC 2026 Innovation Awards alongside NEP Europe and ITV Studios Netherlands, for a live-production editing model built for The Voice of Holland that shifts key editorial work upstream into the live broadcast itself, backed by Avid, EditingTools.io and EVS.
Outside that nomination, Limecraft's core business is turn-key cloud workflows for scripted and unscripted production, archiving, subtitling and localisation. Broadcasters including ITV have used its AI subtitling to cut turnaround time and, the company says, halve subtitling cost. Its most recent platform release, version 2026.4 (16 June 2026), added GPU-accelerated transcoding and team-based access control.
The nomination places Limecraft among a cluster of vendors at IBC 2026 pushing AI further upstream in live production, aiming to collapse the gap between broadcast and finished, distributable content.
