LaLiga

LaLiga is the top division of the Spanish football league system, contested by 20 clubs over a 38-match season and organised by the Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional (LFP). The league was founded in 1929, when the inaugural Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Primera brought together ten clubs, and has run continuously since. Real Madrid and Barcelona have dominated its history, with 36 and 29 titles respectively of the 63 clubs that have competed. Javier Tebas has served as LaLiga president since 2013. Since 2023 the competition has carried the sponsored name LaLiga EA Sports.

This week LaLiga was named as a customer of WSC Sports' AI clip-cutting technology, part of the vendor/federation layer of automated sports-production tools that broadcasters and leagues are adopting to generate short-form highlights at scale.
