Kielce is the capital of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in south-central Poland, with 192,468 residents in 2021. It was a centre of metallurgy from the 15th century. Trade fairs became a large part of its economy after Targi Kielce, the exhibition centre, was set up in 1992.
Its best-known fair is MSPO, the International Defence Industry Exhibition, held at Targi Kielce each September and the main shop window for Poland's arms industry. The 34th edition ran from 8 to 11 September 2026, with Canada as lead nation, PGZ as strategic partner and more than 1,000 exhibitors. A new 15,500m² hall took the centre's indoor space to 53,500m².
Deals signed in the city carry into Europe's robot-vehicle market. At MSPO on 10 September 2026 the Estonian firm Milrem Robotics signed weapons and optics agreements with ZMT and PCO, two PGZ units.
