Background

IBC (the International Broadcasting Convention) is the annual trade show for the broadcast and media technology industry, held each September at the RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre in Amsterdam. It draws roughly 1,300 exhibitors and around 45,000 attendees from over 170 countries, making it one of the sector's largest meeting points for content, distribution and production technology.

Its long-running Innovation Awards, now in their third decade, recognise real-world projects where a broadcaster or media company worked with technology partners to solve a creative, operational or commercial challenge. Both the end-user organisation and its technology suppliers are credited.

The 2026 edition, running 11-14 September, is shaping up as a showcase for agentic AI in production and editing, with nominees spanning sports federations, national broadcasters and local-news groups deploying automated cutting, dubbing and workflow tools.
