On 17 September 2026 it confirmed continued funding for the AI New Ten Major Infrastructure Projects, budgeted above NT$190 billion since March 2026. The National Development Council reported training 140,000 AI professionals during 2025, working toward a target of 400,000 by 2028.
The confirmation gives Taiwan's chipmakers a multi-year funding signal for AI-era capacity planning, while keeping the programme's delivery against that 2028 target under continued scrutiny from opposition lawmakers.
