Data Centres: Boom and BacklashBackground
Dan Diorio is executive vice president for state policy and government affairs at the Data Center Coalition, the trade body that speaks for large data-centre operators in state capitals.
Diorio's public line on Texas's review of data-centre projects was cautiously supportive: he said the industry hoped it would "showcase the good actors in the data center industry" rather than cause unnecessary delay, and pressed regulators to work through it quickly.
That stance put him closer to operators keen to keep projects moving than to state figures pushing for a slower, more codified process first.
