Convex Group writes complex property, casualty and specialty risk as a London-headquartered specialty insurer and reinsurer. It carries an A- financial strength rating from AM Best and a stable outlook from Standard & Poor's.
The company operates from platforms in London, Bermuda, Luxembourg and New Jersey, and counts institutional investors including Onex Partners and PSP Investments alongside capital from its own executive management team.
Convex has built its book steadily since 2019, growing gross premium written at roughly 22% a year between 2022 and mid-2026, a pace that has made it one of the newer entrants to establish scale in the London specialty market.
Convex extends beyond its insurance book
Convex writes complex property, casualty and specialty risk from platforms in London, Bermuda, Luxembourg and New Jersey, carrying an A- rating from AM Best . Stephen Catlin and Paul Brand founded the insurer in 2019 with around $1.8 billion in committed capital, backed by Onex Partners and PSP Investments.
A stake in a British satellite maker's Series c sits outside that core underwriting business, placing Convex alongside institutional names such as Lightrock and Catalonia's ICF in a round that named no American investor.
