Bromley

Bromley is an outer London borough in the south-east of the capital, traditionally one of the safest Conservative seats in Greater London. In the 2026 local elections it became a minor story when Reform UK's membership TEAM cold-called Sam Webber, a sitting Bromley councillor for a rival party, five days before nominations closed, asking him to stand as a Reform paper candidate.

The borough illustrates Reform's challenge in suburban Tory heartlands: the party needs to consolidate gains made in 2025 but is struggling with candidate quality and retention. Bromley's political character — affluent, suburban, Conservative-leaning — makes it territory where Reform must either displace the Tories or fade back to protest vote status.
