Drones: Industry & DefenceBackground
Asian Military Review is a defence trade magazine published from Bangkok by Media Transasia Thailand Limited, with Gordon Arthur as editor. It covers Asia-Pacific armed forces, procurement programmes and the regional arms industry, and calls itself the largest-circulation defence magazine in the region.
Its September 2026 report on the Korean Army drone shows its method. The magazine quoted the committee chaired by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, which said the new drone would 'overcome the limitations of the existing fixed-wing-type divisional reconnaissance drone', and set out a research programme running from 2027 to 2036.
Asian Military Review works as a specialist trade title rather than a news agency. Its accounts relay Asian acquisition decisions in detail, largely in the words of the agencies that make them, and so serve as a record of what those agencies announce rather than an independent check on it.
