Can 01Health's dental AI platform become the operating system for all specialist care in local clinics?
Background
01Health closed a £11.2m ($15m) Series A in June 2026, led by Gresham House Ventures, with Balderton Capital, Eka Ventures, and Wavemaker360 following on alongside angels including Nicolas Cary, co-founder of Blockchain.com. The London company was founded in 2022 by Dr Sonia Szamocki, a former NHS accident-and-emergency doctor and BCG consultant who serves as chief executive.
The company is the rebranded parent of two operating dental businesses: 32Co, an orthodontics network, and Aerox Health, which specialises in dental sleep medicine. Both already run on 01Health's software platform. The strategic shift at Series A is to open that platform to third-party practices and dental service organisations for the first time, letting them licence the clinical workflow and AI tools 01Health built for its own brands rather than going only through 01Health's own clinical network. The company frames this as bringing specialist care, historically concentrated in private Harley Street practices, to local clinics at lower cost.
Proceeds fund UK growth and US expansion. The round closed in a week when total UK tech funding fell 44% week-on-week to £266m, making 01Health one of the two standout Series A closes in an otherwise subdued fortnight.
