Drones: Industry & DefenceBackground
Evolve Dynamics FOXE-NATO is a sub-250g reconnaissance drone made by Hampshire-based Evolve Dynamics. Launched in 2025, it is designed to be carried in a pouch and used by personnel WHO need a small aerial camera close to the ground.
The platform combines a 4K day camera with an infrared camera, onboard object tracking and navigation that can operate without satellite positioning. Its stated flight time is about 35 minutes. These features place Foxe-NATO in the lightweight reconnaissance class, where portability and rapid deployment matter more than endurance.
The Ministry of Defence included 245 Foxe-NATO systems in its 16 September 2026 small-drone purchase under Project Rapstone. That order gives the product a documented place in British defence procurement.
The MoD orders 245 FOXE-NATO drones
On 16 September, the UK Ministry of Defence included 245 Foxe-NATO systems in a £16m order for 1,025 small drones under Project Rapstone. The purchase put the lightweight reconnaissance platform into a larger British effort to equip forces with small uncrewed aircraft.
For Foxe-NATO, the order matters because its sub-250g design is intended for carriage by dismounted personnel. Its inclusion in the September procurement links a pouch-carried reconnaissance drone to a formal Ministry of Defence buy, rather than a demonstration or prospective requirement.
