ASGARD

ASGARD is a UK Ministry of Defence battle-management programme for which Rowden Technologies is a primary contractor, a relationship confirmed by the National Wealth Fund's first defence-sector investment in May 2026. The programme provides AI-enabled command and control software to UK Army formations, including British Army Cyber and Information Warfare Command.

ASGARD (Advanced Suite for Ground-force Awareness, Reconnaissance and Direction, or similar MOD designation) is part of the UK Army's broader digitisation drive to create an integrated command operating picture at formation and unit level. Battle-management systems of this type consolidate sensor feeds, logistics data, and communications into a single command interface, enabling faster decision cycles. The human-machine teaming doctrine co-developed with Rowden is central to how commanders interact with ASGARD's outputs.

The NWF's investment in Rowden, and ASGARD's role as the anchor contract, indicates that the programme has moved from prototype to an operationally-oriented delivery phase. For the UK defence-tech ecosystem, ASGARD represents one of the first commercially-led AI battle-management contracts awarded outside the traditional prime contractor (BAE Systems, MBDA, Thales) ecosystem.
