Arsene Wenger guided FIFA's Technical Study Group review of the 2026 World Cup, published on 30 June under the panel's chair, Pascal Zuberbuhler . The review's headline finding was that winning teams regained possession roughly four seconds faster than the sides they lost to.

Wenger managed Arsenal for 22 years before joining FIFA as its chief of global football development in 2019, the role from which he now steers the governing body's technical work at each World Cup.

The review went out with the knockout rounds still to come, the same day Pierluigi Collina published FIFA's separate officiating findings . Both documents were written before the tournament, and the trophy, had been decided.
