CuspAI describes the AI Materials Foundry as a worldwide pool of data, laboratories, computing capacity and scientific know-how, assembled to shorten how long it takes to design new materials; the company put the name to the Coalition on 20 July 2026, claiming more than 45 founding members.
Its stated membership spans equipment makers, chemicals producers and manufacturers, the sort of organisations that hold the furnaces and production lines no software can substitute for. The idea is to trade access to proprietary data and physical facilities for a faster route through the discovery pipeline, in a field where testing candidate materials by hand has long been the bottleneck.
Because CuspAI alone named the Coalition and described what it does, everything about its governance, and what any individual member is actually committed to build or share, currently rests on the company's word; nobody has yet verified those commitments independently.
